Amy Hanten, The Cooking Mom
Amy is a well-known blogger, TV personality, and cookbook author. She’s a working mom who has been cooking on TV for more than 20 years, with regular appearances on news stations across the Midwest and national TV too, including spots on The Dr. Oz Show.
Amy’s blog The Cooking Mom, is focused on easy recipes, secrets, and tips to get people cooking again and back to the table. Her specialty is quick, amazing one-skillet, and one-pot wonder recipes that help make life easier for everyday cooks.
Amy started her career as a news anchor and worked at several TV stations across the country. She has always loved to cook and once she started cooking up her family’s favorite recipes on her morning news show, viewers loved them. It wasn’t long before she traded in her blazer for an apron.
These days, besides her blog, she hosts a live cooking/lifestyle show, Living with Amy on WLUK-TV in Green Bay, Wis. Her first cookbook, The Cooking Mom was just re-released in full color and her second, The Cooking Mom Cooks Up Memories, is perfect for busy families struggling to get dinner on the table. She’s currently working on cookbook number three. All her cookbooks are available on her website www.thecookingmom.com and at all Barnes and Noble stores.
Amy is married to her college sweetheart, Bob. She has two kids, Riley and Ireland, and a new family member, Arlo, a black lab. All of them eat very well!
