Using Your Cookware

For stainless steel skillets, the most important thing to do is preheat the pan thoroughly on a low to medium heat – until water drops slip easily across the surface (not bubble or evaporate). Then add your food. In many cases, additional oils are not necessary. Your meat or poultry may initially stick to the pan, but will loosen as the natural juices are released. You can then turn the meat or poultry to continue browning and cooking until your food reaches the point where you feel it’s done.

If you wish, you may add a small amount of oil to the preheated pan and then heat further until you see wisps of vapor or the oil shows runs (legs) down the pan. Then add your foods (listen for the sizzle that means the pan is perfectly ready) and follow the recipes as directed. These processes can help you caramelize, create fonds, and attain a crisp crust you will not generally duplicate in nonstick pans. It also helps to ensure foods are as dry as possible before cooking, especially when using oil – to avoid undue splattering.


Yes, metal tools will not harm stainless steel. It is always best to use silicone, wood, or plastic on non-stick surfaces, but Eterna® nonstick coating is extremely durable, so using metal tools should not affect the non-stick properties of your cookware.


American Kitchen cookware handles are all made with solid stainless steel. Stainless steel alone (without aluminum) stays cool because steel does not conduct heat well. The handles have also been designed to minimize heat transfer even more, using our special V-shaped connection to the pan. These smaller contact points allow heat to dissipate quickly before reaching the thicker grip portion of the handle.

Please note any handle could heat up under extended stovetop use, with multiple burners going, or when using the cookware in the oven. So, for your safety, we recommend that you always use pot holders when handling hot pans or covers.

The handles have been are carefully designed to give you the most comfortable grip possible, and are stabilized with stainless steel leak-proof rivets for durability.


Yes, and you’ll love this feature for braising or keeping food warm in the skillets, sauté pans and casserole dishes. Stainless steel is oven-safe up to 500 degrees (260° C) and our non-stick frying pans are oven-safe up to 400 degrees (204° C).


Your tri-ply stainless steel pans do not need any seasoning, and are ready to go with just an initial wash in soapy water with ¼ cup of vinegar – to remove any traces of manufacturing oils – then rinse and dry.

For your non-stick frying pans, you will need to do a simple seasoning procedure. After cleaning, use a soft cloth to wipe the interior of pan with 1 tsp. (5 ml) of vegetable oil  (not olive oil). This process should be repeated every 2 to 3 months or if food starts sticking to the pan.

No. All American Kitchen non-stick coatings are made without using PFOA. The incredibly smooth, durable Eterna® non-stick surfaces will allow you to use less oils and butter when cooking. As a rule, always ensure you are cooking at Low or Medium temperatures with these premium tri-ply pans and refrain from using non-stick sprays on this surface as it will actually create residue that can harm the non-stick coating.


Yes, American Kitchen cookware works great on any type of cooking surface. The solid, flat bottoms allow complete surface contact across the bottom of all our pots and pans and the tri-ply construction then efficiently conducts all the heat up the sides of the pans for even heating with less stirring or scorching.


American Kitchen pots and pans will inspire you to expand your cooking horizons. They are designed to spread and maintain heat evenly across the entire cooking surface, which means you can cook at lower temperatures than you would with other pans.

For most cooking, you will only ever need Low to Medium heat because the center layer of the tri-ply construction is aluminum, which conducts heat so well. Learn more about tri-ply.

Cleaning

Your cookware is dishwasher safe; however, we recommend hand washing to preserve the beautiful finish. Remember always to allow cookware to cool to room temperature before cleaning and follow these guidelines:

  • Stainless Steel: To remove stubborn stains or stuck-on food, rinse pan with water. Make a paste of water and a non-abrasive, non-chlorine stainless steel cleanser such as Barkeeper’s Friend®. Using a damp paper towel, rub cleanser paste in a circular motion. Wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry. Discoloration: Using excessive heat can cause heat tints of blue or golden brown on stainless steel. These can be removed with a stainless steel cleanser, as mentioned above.
  • Non-stick: To remove stuck-on food, soak in warm soapy water and use a plastic scrubbing pad. Metal scouring pads and abrasive cleansers should not be used. To remove water spots or minor stains, wipe with vinegar or lemon juice.

Yes, all pans are dishwasher safe and clean up nicely in the dishwasher; however, we recommend hand-cleaning to preserve the beautiful satin finish and non-stick capabilities.

If you find discoloration from cooking, you may use a nonabrasive cleaner like Barkeepers Friend® or Bon Ami®.  Full use and care instructions from Regal Ware.

Warranty

American Kitchen cookware products are warranted to be free from defects in material and craftsmanship for the lifetime of the original consumer. Any part or parts which are found to be defective when examined by the manufacturer, Regal Ware, Inc., will be repaired or replaced with a similar part without charge during the warranty period. The consumer is responsible for the costs of shipping and handling.


The warranty covers manufacturer defects. It will not cover accidents, misuse, abuse, commercial use, neglect, tampering, alterations, ordinary wear and tear, or service by unauthorized personnel. If items have been damaged by use with excessively high heat; if they are flaking, stained, discolored, marked, scratched, warped, or pitted in a way that indicates use other than that recommended by the manufacturer; or if the issue doesn’t affect the performance of the product, they will not be covered by this warranty.  This warranty is also limited to the original consumer with proof of purchase and is not transferable. Returns

If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your American Kitchen products, you may return them within 60 days of the shipping date. The item must be unused, preferably in original packaging, and must include all pieces of the item (i.e. covers and pans, etc.).

There are two simple options for returns. No matter which method you choose, you will need to complete the Return Form on the back of your original invoice and enclose it in the box. (Please scan or make a copy of the invoice for your records).

If there was a USPS label in your package, you may use that for return postage and simply give it to the postal carrier. Or, you may return the item(s) to:

Yes. Gifts may also be returned unused within 60 days. Simply provide the invoice from the item and we will provide a merchandise credit in the form of an electronic gift card.


Seasoning Blends

The date stamp is the date the seasoning is blended and packed. Your blends should last at least a year to two years after this date. Flavors tend to diminish after that timeframe.


Yes.  All blends are gluten-free and the ingredients of each of our spice blends are listed on the product page. Some of the blends are also Salt- and Sugar-Free, such as Garlic Herb, Thai, and Cherrywood Smoked Chipotle.


We recommend that you store all your spices in a cool, dry, dark place such as your pantry (not over your stove) with the cover tightly closed. Seasoning Blends are good for 1-2 years when stored this way. After that time, the flavors will simply diminish but the product will still be safe to use, especially if it’s unopened.


Although there are additives to prevent it, it is natural for some of the blends to clump a bit. Simply shake the container up a bit to free the granules (with lid closed tightly). We recommend shaking all the blends prior to use to get the best blended flavor because the particulates are not all the same size and those that are heavier can settle to the bottom.


The seasoning blends follow our return policy. If you return the items within 60 days, unopened (seal intact), we will issue a refund. See our Returns Policy.


Bakeware

Bakeware pans do not require pre-heating. You may pre-heat the oven according to your recipe instructions.


No. The pans are not intended for broiling. The higher temperatures could damage the non-stick coating.


No, not unless you use a spray that it is specifically made for baking and contains flour. Using non-stick spray will leave residue that will actually reduce the non-stick properties of the coating – and can void your warranty. Pans work well with parchment paper, silicone baking mats, and also traditional butter or shortening and flour methods.


To avoid any warping in the oven, the maximum recommended oven temperature is 400° F.


No. The edges of your American Kitchen bakeware are secured with galvanized steel which doesn’t rust and provides better durability to help avoid warping.

 


Yes. Aluminum is a soft metal, so you may see scratches on the bottom, since it is uncoated. The non-stick coating protects the top side from similar scratches.


American Kitchen bakeware has a 10-year limited warranty after the original date of purchase.
