Best uses: This pan is perfect for sautéing vegetables like mushrooms and onions, or searing meats like steaks or scallops. It transitions flawlessly from stovetop to oven for recipes that call for searing and final roasting, keeping meats moist and flavorful.

Beef Tenderloin with Mushrooms
6 (6- to 8-ounce) beef tenderloin fillets
6 tablespoons butter, divided
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon granulated onion
¼ teaspoon granulated garlic
2 packages (8 ounces each) sliced mushrooms
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup beef broth
1/3 cup red wine

In a bowl, combine 1 teaspoon salt and pepper, granulated onion and garlic. Season tenderloin with salt mixture on both sides. In the American Kitchen® 12-inch Stainless Steel Skillet, melt 3 tablespoons butter. Add beef; cook until desired doneness. (For rare, internal temperature should read 120⁰-130⁰, for medium 140⁰-150⁰ and well-done should read 150⁰-165⁰. Remove beef and keep warm. In same skillet, melt remaining butter. Add the mushrooms, salt, broth and wine. Cook until mushrooms are tender. Serve with beef. Yield: 6 servings.

Tips for Beef Tenderloin

• When picking out tenderloin, the meat should have good color and appear moist but not wet. Any cut edges should be even, not ragged.
• It should take 10-13 minutes to cook a 1-inch fillet.

I love this skillet. It is very nice quality and cooks very well on my induction range. I worried about cleanup but shouldn’t have. It cleans as easily as a nonstick. I also love that it doesn’t have a nonstick coating so I don’t have to worry about which utensils I’m using in it.

Skillet is to heavy to use-if you are older. A disclaimer of weight on each product would be appreciated.

Hi Sharon, We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed in the weight of the pan. They are well-constructed with three layers of metal so they do have some heft. We do list the weight in the product details but it may be hard to realize what that means until a person actually holds the pans. Please contact us to discuss returning it or exchanging it for a smaller size, at 800-474-4231.

Nice! My wife and I have been looking for an alternative to non-stick pans, and the “transition” to using this skillet has been painless. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to replace their current non-sticks. You will have to change your cooking technique, but it is worth it. AND this pan is made in the USA!!! Yay!!
